If you live in Murray, you may have wondered whether a carpet company on West Main in Lexington really drives out this far. We do.
Murray is the little crossroads community a couple of miles northwest of Gilbert, up toward the south shore of the lake, with Summit just below it and Priceville and Hollow Creek close by. It carries a Gilbert mailing address and doesn't have much of a town center, so it's easy to assume it falls off the map. It's about 11 miles from our office. Making one trip count
The drive is the same whatever we clean, so Murray homes tend to get the most out of a visit by grouping the work. A few ideas:
- Do the carpet and the furniture the same day. A recliner or sofa that gets used every evening is usually as dirty as the carpet under it, and upholstery cleaning adds very little time.
- Roll the area rugs out where we can reach them. We clean rugs right in your home; nothing gets hauled away.
- Save up the problem spots. Point every one of them out on the walk-through, including the one behind the couch you've been ignoring.
Country houses here tend to have long driveways, sandy yards, and a back door that takes most of the traffic. That back-door path is where your technician will probably suggest a pre-treatment, and it's usually the part of the job you notice most afterward. Everything is priced with you before the work begins, so there's no surprise waiting at the end of a long driveway.
One small thing that helps out here: if your road is easy to miss, mention a landmark when you call, a mailbox color or the church on the corner. Rural addresses in 29054 don't always land where the map app thinks they do, and we'd like to spend that time on your carpet.
Where cleaning stops helping
Plenty of country houses have a room with big windows and no shade on the afternoon side. Carpet in that room fades, slowly, in a band near the glass. A cleaning takes out the soil that makes it look dingy, and the room will look better for it, but sun-bleached fiber stays the color the sun left it. If that's what you're seeing, your technician will tell you on the walk-through so you aren't expecting the impossible.
