Tracking down the hidden spots
The visit starts with an inspection, and it's more thorough than most people expect. Pets rarely go in only one place, and the stains you can see aren't always the ones causing the smell. Your technician walks the room, asks where the animals like to hang out, and uses detection tools to find urine that soaked in without leaving a mark on the surface. The material gets checked as well, since a wool rug and a nylon carpet need different handling.

Breaking it down where it sits
A live enzyme treatment goes on each spot, and it goes on in volume. Urine soaks down past the fiber into the backing and the pad, so the enzyme has to travel just as deep. Once it gets there, it digests the proteins and bacteria behind the odor. That's the whole trick, and it's why a can of air freshener never works for long.
After the enzyme has had time to do its job, the area is cleaned with our carbonated process, which lifts the broken-down residue and the stain out of the fiber. A sanitizing step can follow to knock back any bacteria still hanging around. A light rinse finishes it. So little water is involved that the carpet is generally dry in under an hour.

Urine is acidic, and over the years it can bleach or permanently shift the dye in a carpet, so a mark may fade a lot and still show faintly in the right light. Years of repeat accidents can also ruin the pad itself, and in that case replacing a small section of pad is the real fix. We'll tell you that during the inspection, before you've paid a dime.

When there's a fresh puddle, press a plain white towel into it and keep switching to a dry section, then dab on cool water and blot again. Skip the scented sprays; they mask the smell for you while the dog can still find the spot just fine.
